pageElement to follow the Mouse in Storyline
Mar 02, 2021
Owen Holt asked me on LinkedIn if i knew a way or had tips/tricks to create a 'Follow the Mouse' type as he had found somewhere on the Internet.
I didnot have much time to get it 100% identical to his sample...but working it is...

2nd question he had about viewport size and scaling. I didnot have time to show that. In one of my posts there is a solution for x/y and viewport scaling... will add that later when time permits..
In this sample the 'Follow Mouse' actions work at least..

This helps - it gives me something to dive in and analyze. One thing I noticed, If I resize the window, Storyline appropriately moves and resizes everything. However, now when the mouse enters the canvas, the eyes jump over quite a distance to a different point on the canvas. If I drop the browser size enough, they will actually jump all the way out of the scene. This leads to that second part of the question about scaling the effect or using relative values rather than absolute.
Yeah i know. Know how to solve that just lack the time to implement/show it. Its in some of my other posts on position and Gsap. Will post more when time permits
