Paragraph & Individual Word Builds in Storyline 3

Jul 26, 2018

Has anyone found a way to have a string of words in a text box display one word at a time?    And, if so, animate certain words individually to set them apart from other words within the same paragraph?  Thanks..

Hi there, Rory.  Sounds like you really need to add some specific emphasis to your text!

Animations in Storyline apply to the entire object as it appears on the timeline, like the entire text box, for example.  Your options with text boxes include adding animation to the entire box, or by paragraph.  Of course, you could have each word in it's own text box or shape, and you would have complete control over when they appear.

We could get creative, though!  If you need to emphasize a word in your text box, could you place a semi-transparent shape to act as a highlight over the word?

Just some thoughts to get you a little closer to where you need to be!

I don't think this addressed the question, as I too am wondering how Articulate can just show one word of the sentence at a time... so like the word appears as the audio reads it (that of course would happen with the audio timing).  I don't want my viewers to see the whole sentence at once, just one word at a time as the sentence is building.
