This is generally handled by the LMS so that you can restrict which users can see and view a course. If you're hosting a web server, one option would be to start the course with a "text entry" slide or fill in the blank. You could then provide a "password" of sorts to users that they'd need to type in before moving on. It's not necessarily secure, but it would prevent anyone who just stumbles upon the URL from accessing the course.
