Paste URL bug?

Copying a hyperlink (from an email) then pasting into a trigger "Jump to URL/File" can give unexpected results - inserting angle brackets before and after the hyperlink.
To get around this issue, I paste the link into Notepad, copy that which removes other attributes, then paste plain text into the trigger dialog.
Not a serious bug. I was wondering if this was unique to my workstation or if it is repeatable.

Hey, Sam! I've seen this from time-to-time. Never filed a bug on it like I should have.
I've gotten into the habit of when pasting URLs to--just for "Safety's sake--inspect the entire URL from back to front for any "possible anomalies."
Most mail clients add the angle brackets to ensure that the URL does not get split across different lines and become meaningless, it would make a great feature if storyline would strip these out, but it isn't really a bug the angle brackets are coming from the mail client
Hi Phil,
If that is correct, why don't the angle brackets appear when I paste into Notepad? Maybe you are thinking of another angle bracket like: phil@gmail.com
Sam
I have no answer for that so must be wrong
I cannot check anything at the moment as i am stuck importing a 1.18 GB PPT file and looks like it uses the cut and paste buffer ;-(
I always thought they were added by the client as it does not happen if i cut and paste from browser, word, ppt, but cannot explain why they don't drop into notepad
