Pausing a video twice on one slide
Jul 26, 2018
Struggling a bit here, and hope someone can help. Here's what I'm trying to do: I'd like to pause a video at one point on the timeline, and show the user some pertinent items while the video is paused. Then I want the user to click my Continue button, at which point the video starts to play again, and then the video will pause again at my second cuepoint. Works fine the first time, but it never pauses at the second cuepoint.
I feel like I need an additional "pause media" trigger below the Play media trigger (on the Continue button) but I don't know how to do that - all the 'play/pause media' triggers are slide triggers, which are always at the top.
Is there a way to do this or do I need to try to split my video and create separate slides? (See attachment for my trigger setup).

you need to pause the slide rather than the media or as well as because the timeline continues even though the media is paused.
Wow, just found another post on this - in fact it does seem to work when I publish! Apologies for the duplicate post.

Thanks for the reply Phil - actually it seems to work just fine as is (as long as I publish to preview). Even if I sit for 10 seconds at the first cuepoint before clicking Continue, the second cuepoint kicks in at the right time.
Hey Phil - wow turns out you were right - I am soooo sure it was working right, but then when i added some more items to the second cue point, it didn't work correctly at all - they were appearing according to the timeline of the slide and not the media.
Weird - I was SURE it was working before! Anyway, thanks for the post!
