Pausing and resuming video

I have a video with cue points. At various cue points, I want to pause the video and the time, have a layer pop-up, and then, upon closing layer, the video and timeline continue. How can this be done? I have the movie on the main layer with cue points. At the cue point, I trigger to pause timeline, pause video, and show layer. They do their stuff on the layer, then when they click a button on the layer, I want the layer to close and the video and the timeline to continue. Except I do not see how to make the timeline continue, because the button is on the layer, and there is no trigger that, upon clicking a button on the layer, pauses the timeline on the base slide. Any ideas?

You only need two triggers, One to show the layer at the appropriate time. On the layer properties, tick Pause base layer timeline. On the layer, one to hide the layer.
When the timeline pauses, everything will pause, and when the layer is hidden, everything resumes.
Thank you! Such an easy solution that I totally missed. You guys are the best.
