Persistent Issue: Available Memory is Too Low

Sep 10, 2014

I'm trying to create an online course for my university and I'm on a bit of a time schedule. I get the message below whenever I try to insert a text box or use any of the pre-made interactive slides or quizzing slides. I definitely have enough memory. I am working with a partner and we have the same laptop model (Lenovo Yoga Pro 2) and we both have the same exact issues.

I emailed support and I've looked across the support boards. I've done everything to solve this problem and nothing has worked, including re-installing the program. If I can't get the program to work properly, I can't convince the department to purchase it.

 Please help!

Hello Jamillah, and welcome to Heroes!

Please make sure you're working with local project files:

  • Work on your local drive (your C: drive). Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior, including file corruption, loss of audio, and other unexpected behavior.
  • You should also make sure the directory path to your project files and your published output is less than 260 characters (for example C:\Articulate).
  • Avoid using special characters, accents or symbols in your file names (this includes spaces and underscores).

Additional information regarding "Naming Files, Paths, and Namespaces" in Windows operating systems can be found in the following Microsoft article.

You may also try a repair of Storyline.

Here are some additional threads that may give you some additional information. I do see you have a support case open with Jonathan, 00420352, and I will be keeping an eye on that for you as well.
