I'm building a course in storyline that incorporates a "pick many" quiz in which the learner needs to click on four out of six post-its for the right answer. I would like the learner to be able to click and unclick an answer if they think that it is not correct. Currently, when they click on it - they cannot un-click it or change their mind. Is there a way for them to do that?
I figured it had something to do with triggers, but since I'm fairly new at this I wasn't sure. I'm not sure if the survey type Pick one will help me as I do want the learner to pick all of the correct answers. I also want them to highlight and un-highlight as they click - which is already in here.
But what you'll notice is that if the learner clicks an option and then decides to unclick it - it remains "clicked" and even though the correct responses are highlighted - because they unclicked (which didn't unchange the fact that they selected it) it states that it is incorrect. Hope that makes sense?
I've uploaded the slide for your review. Any help that you can give would be great!
Please see slide 2 in the attached...I think it does what you want.
I was uncertain why there were layers in the first slide...I couldn't tell what they were doing...so when I duplicated the slide I removed all the layers (but of course left the Correct and Incorrect layers).
I took the "highlight rectangle" that you had placed on the layers, and instead placed them inside the selected state of each of your text boxes, e.g., "Buying a new mine" and "A change in executive management."
Now Learners can select and unselect as much as they want...and they should still come up with the correct answer if, in the end, the correct "stickies" have been selected.
I was going down the same track as well with the states being changed as triggers were becoming very complex to have it work with your initial setup.
I have attached my version just in case you want to compare for ideas with states as I have taken it further and added the text as well to the states. Therefore the object is now one picture, this just allows the learner to select the whole picture rather than having to click on the text area only.
Both solutions work as you want but you can maniulate states as much as you want.
Thanks for the idea. I have encountered a strange issue where the selected state changes when I click on another option.
Example I have 4 options, when I click option 1 it goes to the selected state, when I click option 2, Option 1 goes back to Normal and Option 2 goes selected.
Am I missing something or have I encountered a bug?
Yes, if you're using a pick one option, the user can only select one choice. You may want to look at using a pick many - or if you right click on all the objects/shapes and make sure that they're not part of a button set.

Hi Rachel,
You will be looking to work with triggers and states for that to work.
Take a look at http://community.articulate.com/tutorials/products/working-with-states-triggers-and-layers.aspx
Also this post: http://community.articulate.com/forums/t/51182.aspx which has a story file that might help you take a different direction in setting up the slide.
Let me know how you go and if you get stuck upload what you have done and I can assist further.
Cheers
Andrew

I see that Rebecca has beaten me to the Punch.
Thank you Rebecca.

Hi All,

I am using images in the Pick Many, Does this make a difference?
I noticed if I use a shape with states instead of images it works as expected. More testing needed. I'll report back.

Sorry thqt was a mistake I meant Pick Many. Edited in original post.
No worries - if you're still seeing the odd behavior in a pick many, did you double check the "button set" element?
