Picking up which pages have been completed

Hello,
We want to enhance our "menu" pages to show a "not started/started/complete" indicator for each menu item (section) so the user knows
which chapters have been completed and which they still need to do.
We know that Storyline internally maintains a status for each page but we wish to find out a way to 'walk' a group of pages and read the page completion status. The SDK is not yet available but from HTML5/JS I believe we should still be able to perform this task.
Any pointers would be most appreciated.
Thanks,
Chris

Sorry to bump but can anyone provide any information to read the completion state of pages within the course, especially from JavaScript?
This example might help - but it uses a custom menu rather than the built-in "side menu".
You could amend the various Variables to do this, having a "started but not completed" state showing until the last slide, when the "Completed" state was triggered.
Hope this helps.
