Picture Format Lethargy

Oct 18, 2018

Here's a fun one for anyone, when I add a white border to any photo (see image 1), Image 1 then add a black preset dropbox shadow (see image 2), Image 2the program begins running as if stuck in a tar pit. I've tested this on several state of the art machines with clean versions of 360, and have found the same phenomenon. I tried it with imported versus Articulate images, same thing. The moment I turn off the formatting in question, poof, all is normal. Pretty cool huh? Any ideas how to prevent this strange slow symptom?

Hello, Rueben! Sorry to hear you're hitting sluggish behavior. I tested the same thing in a new Storyline file, and everything appears to be running smoothly. Here's a Peek of my testing.

You already mentioned that you tested this using the most updated version of Storyline, so we can check that off the list. ✔️

From here, send us a copy of one of the slow-performing files, and we'll take a closer look. Thanks!

Hi Rueben,

Just thought I would let you know that I have just tried out your photo formatting. It came out exactly as it should and I have noticed no change in performance of the program as a result. I added and formatted a total of seven images on three slides and it all worked fine.

If you had only tried it on your computer, I would have suggested that you might have an issue with your install, but the fact that it would appear to have occurred on a number of computers is strange.

Oh no, Rueben

I took a look at the case you worked with Jose on a few months ago and it seemed like you had nailed down the culprit.

I'm sorry to hear that you've been dealing with it still.

Are you working locally (typically your C: Drive) with your software, project files, and assets?

Hello Johann,

This is an issue we were unable to replicate and seemed to be prior to publishing, so you may be running into a different issue.

With your permission, I'd like to take a look at your project file to investigate what's happening. You can share it publicly here, or send it to me privately by uploading it here. Just point me to the problematic slide and I'll delete it when I'm done troubleshooting.
