PNG buttons randomly not working in Storyline 2

Hi there,

I am building a course that has detailed buttons with images on them, which means I am using different PNG files for the states. It is the only way I can think of doing this as you cannot add states to groups.

When using an iPad, these buttons randomly stop working as if a state has not loaded correctly. I can be on a slide and it works correctly, then I load to the next slide (which is exactly the same button) and the "hover" and "down" state just disappears when pressed. The button will also not run its trigger because of this which breaks the course.

Reloading the page could fix the issue but it is happening around 50% of the time with different buttons.

Is this a known issue?

This is a potenitally serious issue for my course as detailed buttons on the iPad is my only option.

Thanks for the reply.

I managed to get a workaround in the end by having the main button as an inbuilt shape and then adding the detail as a PNG over the top. I then added hover and down states to both the shape and the PNG before grouping them and adding the trigger to the group. Grouping them also means you can click the alpha part of the PNG and it will click the button below (I have seen people struggling with this as the alpha PNG stops the button beneath being clicked).

This may help other people trying a similar thing.
