I was just playing around with the video recording of Storyline and I encountered this problem where in I was able to saved the video scene but not able to get a results in View, Try and Test mode scenes. The program I'm using is DrExplain. Everything else works except when i click the button that will give me a pop up window, it's not being captured by the 3 scenes mention.
I'm not familiar with the DrExplain program, but I did a simple recording of an Office program with pop up windows (for formatting, saving, etc.) and all appeared as expected within the screen recording try it mode.
If this is a program that you operate from a web browser, you'll want to try it in a different browser than Google Chrome for the reasons explained here.
I'm sharing you the .story file i made to let you see what's happening. Hope this helps. I'm not sure if this is an issue with the DrExplain itself or the Storyline. Anyhow, this is not actually my project, I'm just testing waters.
Thanks for sharing your .story file with me. I can see in the video mode, that the pop ups work successfully, and in try/test mode there is only one slide each so it seems that all the pop up information is not being communicated.
To help you narrow down if it's a DrExplain or Storyline issue, can you try recording another application that has pop up windows? For example, I used Office (Word) and was able to see the pop up windows there in my Try/Test mode.
Sorry for the late reply. Yeah i was able to try it on different programs that pop up and it's working so i guess it's with the DrExplain program. Thanks.

If when recording an application such as Word, you still don't see the pop ups, I'd begin by conducting a repair of Storyline.

Hi Jez,

Happy to hear that you were able to narrow this down.
