Possible (minor) bug? Can someone else test please?

Nov 18, 2013

Hi,

I'm working with Storyline putting together a survey and I'm using the 'Survey > Pick One' slides.

I have formatted text in the top paragraph, and the last several words - which I'm emphasizing - are highlighted with a background color. Now, if I open the 'Edit Pick One' feature to edit the answers on the slide, and then Save & Close, the highlighted area in the paragraph goes away; not the text itself, just the highlight.

This is quite annoying as I have to add the highlight the area again anytime I edit my answers.

Can anyone else get this to happen on their own?

Thanks,

-Tim

Hi Tim,

I just tested this in my own Storyline file, and experienced the same behavior. I am not certain if this is a bug or designed behavior (assuming you've updated the question and that the highlights no longer apply) but I'll report it to our team just in case. A good workaround in the meantime is to use transparent shapes over your question words you'd like to highlight as those will stay even if you make changes to the question.

Ashley,

Thanks for the input. Yes I could imagine that it might be a designed behavior, but it just seems odd to me since it keeps other formatting in the question (bold, italic) while only eliminating the highlight.

My workflow on this little survey has been to copy and paste the slide, then edit the question/answers. So in this regard it's a bit of a hassle since I have to re-apply that highlight. But I'll take your advice on that shape as a highlight

Thanks,

-Tim
