Powerpoint import issues
Sep 16, 2015
Hello Everyone:
I am a newbie to E-Learning (not teaching or creating video courses). I have been trying out Captivate for the last 15 days and just started my journey with Articulate Storyline 2.
The first thing I did was import an existing PPTX. Upon import, the fonts are messed up. The font is the same but the spacing, color and text alignment is completely off. Further certain graphics also lose some of their effects. This loss is across the all slides.
Please find the screenshots attached that depict the issue. Any help will be welcome.
Regards,
Mangesh

Hi Mangesh,
Is your Story size ( Design tab > Story size ) the same as your powerpoint? I don't use the powerpoint feature often, but I can imagine that would be an important factor to get the same result as your powerpoint layout.
If that's not that case, hopefully someone with more PPT imported experience can help you out.
Ahh... That was one of the first things I ensured.
In fact, in some slides, the graphics are completely skewed. Sqashed / streched so to speak :(
Hi Mangesh,
Without seeing the actual files, it's difficult to say - but you may also want to begin by looking at the information here in regards to general tips and things to keep in mind. If you'd like you can add the powerpoint using the "add attachment" button so that we can take a look.
Effects that SL does not support are not imported.
See this tutorial.
Hmm... That answers the question. I guess it is best to start afresh in StoryLine. Thanks everyone for pointing me to the right direction.
Glad we were able to point you in the right direction Mangesh and please feel free to let us know if you need anything else.
