Powerpoint or design direct?

Jul 13, 2015

Hello, I am totally new to Articulate. My skills are at best, beginner. I do like a challenge though! I have imported a PowerPoint deck into Articulate and noticed that most text boxes come through as pictures and are therefore not editable. The shapes change, the fonts change and some imagery 'shifts'. Why is this? Am I wasting time designing in PowerPoint and importing? Should I design directly in Articulate? What is the general feel out in the community about this? I find Articulate quite congested in design mode with the surrounding boxes for layers/triggers/slides/states etc. This is why I go down the PowerPoint route first. What do you think?

Hi, Tony, and welcome to the community! Sorry to hear you are experiencing issues, but there are a few things I would like to check initially. Please see the following links/tutorials:

And after you have finished importing, you may want to verify the following: Please make sure you are working locally as described here, and if you are still having issues, you might want to try to repair Storyline.
