powerpoint or storyline where to start

Oct 12, 2015

I am new to authoring and confused how to start. I have a 200 page training book that we want to move to an elearning course that will sit on our intranet site. Multiple chapters.  I'm I to create this first in a PowerPoint then import it into story line?  After I have viewed the turtotials it seems like an extra step. Please I need some guidance.

Hi Jill

you can author directly into Storyline you don't need to create in Powerpoint first.

Here are some SL2 tutorials that may help you get started

Feel free to ask as many questions as you need - everyone on here is very willing to help.

I have started. It seemed easier to begin in PowerPoint. I am confused in
one area. I work for a large urban district. We have the Portal, which has
our Google Drive, Our Atomic Learning (I'm an administrator) and our Hub
(Intranet). As I create this training, I am not sure of the best location
for my training manual. Everyone is to have access to it and to access the
training; everyone must enter through the Portal. Do I want to create a
Google Site, and place this on the site? Do I want to create it as a course
and place it in Atomic Learning? Do I want to have a link on the HUB? Would
it be prudent to be located in all three? I am open to any solutions you
offer. Please advise. Jill

Hi Jill! Hopefully someone in the community will be able to share their advice :) This is not something that I would be of assistance in :)

It sounds like you may be starting in Powerpoint first. Here's how to import content from Microsoft PowerPoint presentations into Articulate Storyline.
