PRE SALES STORYLINE: CGI SCRIPT POST FOR TESTING AVAILABLE?

Aug 09, 2013

Our company does not have an LMS.  Rather we use a cgi/asp script to record test score to a sql database locally via a submit test results through a cgi script with a post function (right now we use Lectora).  We'd like to evaluate storyline.  Does anyone know if this functionality is available in storyline?  If so, how would we go about it?  I can provide more detail if needed.  If this functionality isn't available, we will have to stay with our current tool.  Thanks for any help.

Good Afternoon Deborah, and welcome to Heroes!

Storyline is designed primarily as an elearning development tool to be used in conjunction with Articulate Online or your own LMS.  Any LMS that is compliant with SCORM, AICC, or Tin Can API (open-source options include Dokeos, eFront, and Moodle) will also provide accurate tracking capabilities.

Tracking results in a text file or database is not officially supported by Articulate, although there may be others in the Forums who may be able to consult with you to see how they may have tracked Storyline content without an LMS (or similar situations).

We wish you the best of luck on your project!
