Preceding vs Previous

Is there a quick fix or option that allows the previous button to access preceding slides vs the previous slide.

Example: I have a slide that has a menu with 10 buttons. Each button takes you to a scene via lightbox and this scene has 10 slides to correspond to the 10 menu buttons. When I click on a button from the menu, it takes me to the appropriate slide in my scene in the lightbox. I would like to be able to click on the previous button from there and have it take me to the preceding slide within that scene, not the previous location I arrived from.

I've already amended the previous button script for each slide in my sequence so it handles it appropriately but I just wanted to see if their was a option for preceding vs previous inherently in storyline.
