Prev/next button when revisiting slides help

Oct 22, 2014

Hi,

So in my project I've got some quiz questions, in which the Prev/Next buttons are disabled so that the user is forced to complete the question before continuing.

By default, when a user revisits these slides, the prev/next buttons are now visible (presumably so the user doesn't have to repeat the quiz question over and over every time they arrive at quiz slide).I am happy with this feature. I want them to be invisible on their first visit, and visible when revisiting.

Anyways, when it IS visible, I want to be able to edit where the Prev button links to, to make sure it goes to the right place.

Eg, I want to create this trigger:

"Jump to slide 1.2 When user clicks the previous button"

The only thing is, because I have it disabled, it isn't showing up as an 'object' to use in this trigger. HELP!

Hi Georgia,

Are you using Storyline 1 or Storyline 2? Within Storyline 1, you are able to "trick" the slide into having a trigger for the next or previous button, even though it's technically disabled on the first pass. One of our super heroes described this method for skipping content slides on a quiz review, but the concept is the same for what you'd like to do.  Here is more information about how the previous button is set to behave.

If you're using SL2, this won't work as you're unable to trick it (must have gotten smarter with age!).

Hope that helps!
