I've just created my first project using Storyline, I have been able to both Preview and Publish the course however this has now stopped working. As a work around I imported the file back into Storyline and renamed it and this worked for a short period of time but has now failed again.
Without these features the product becomes pretty much unusable.
Has anyone else seen these type of issues anyone know how to fix them?
I am working on my local drive and not on USB, my colleague is also periodically experiencing the same problem, but has managed to get round it by reimporting the file but this hasn't worked for me
Annie provided some great tips (thanks, Annie!), I just wanted to provide some additional information:
Work on your local drive (your C: drive). Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior, including file corruption, loss of audio, and other unexpected behavior.
You should also make sure the directory path to your project files and your published output is less than 260 characters (for example C:\Articulate).
Avoid using special characters, accents or symbols in your file names (this includes spaces and underscores).
Additional information regarding "Naming Files, Paths, and Namespaces" in Windows operating systems can be found in the following Microsoft article.
You mentioned that your colleague was able to resolve the problem on their end by importing to a new file. Were they experiencing the same issue with the same file you're working with? Do you see this happening with multiple projects, or one specific file?
If you see this happening in multiple projects, it might be a good idea to try repairing Storyline:

There are three of us working on different projects and all three of us have now had the same issue, my colleague here in the UK began having the problem almost from the moment he started using Storyline I however only got it yesterday, our colleague in the States reported this yesterday as well. The workaround of re-importing the file seems to work for a period of time but then fails again.

I can try this but don't have much faith that it would fix the issue, I can't see how three different installs could corrupt is it not likely to be a bug in the software?
I just got a white screen when creating on one screen and passing the output to another - I changed the default browser to IE from Chrome and for whatever reason (not a complete techy) it worked!
What OS are you using? Windows 8 isn't officially supported by articulate yet, whilst some people do not experience any issues at all some people experience erratic storyline behaviour such as what you're describing.
I know it may sound like an odd suggestion but could there be a firewall (personal or company) that may be blocking certain elements of Storyline? Sometimes legitimate software can be identified as malware, especially if it produces web content or exe files.

Hi Phil and welcome to Heroes,
I have never experienced such a problem but the first thing that comes to my mind is to make sure to work on your local drive.
Working on a usb drive or on a network can sometimes create odd behaviour.
Don't hesitate to post back if you need further help, I am pretty sure others may have some tips for you.
Have a nice day!
Annie

Just a thought
Hi Harri
I'm using Kaspersky Endpoint Security 10 for Windows which isn't reporting any problems but I might have to get our IT department to look further.
