Preview screen not loading

Nov 06, 2015

I am using Articulate Storyline 2.

I have recorded my screen and split it into 8 slides. Its a fairly small video.

When i try to preview, the Preview button works fine but the Preview screen loads but the page never displays (please see the attached image). This is happening for recorded slides as well as simple slides.

I am on Windows 7.

I have tried waiting for a couple of minutes too but the preview never shows.

I have attached the project file for anyone who can help me.

Hi Sana,

Thanks for sharing your file here. I took a look and I was able to successfully preview - but I did notice that you had two scenes that were empty and so once I previewed I couldn't advance further than the first scene. I'd look at removing those scenes, and if the odd behavior persists I'd also suggest importing the file into a new project as described here and confirming that you're working on local project files as outlined here.

Please let us know if you're still having difficulty with this file or experiencing odd behavior across multiple files.

Met the same issue at the very start of learning the tool - made a 2-slide story, almost empty (only background and shapes from library), tried to see a preview and it got stuck at the same point. File I'm working with is local (just created) and it does nothing to import it's content to a new project.

EDIT: Problem solved. Even if you don't use Internet Exploder, u _must_ install Flash Player for it. For some sad reason Storyline cannot use any other version.

Hi Katarzyna,

Thanks for the update and glad you were able to get it working. Our preview (and publish to CD set up)  is based off of Internet Explorer, so that's why you'll want to check the Flash version there, but others have been able to download Flash to their system and use a different default browser. For example I mostly use only Chrome and Firefox.
