Printing text box only
Aug 28, 2015
I'm working on an online writing class where I have created multiple slides, each containing a text variable to carry on to the last slide containing a variable reference. So the participant will write a new paragraph in each text variable and will have a completed essay in the last slide containing the variable reference. I was able to include a print button, but the text is too small to read and prints the information within the storyline screen, so it almost looks like a screenshot. Is there a way to only print the text box or to create a new document to print so that the participants have a document that they can actually refer back to later?

Looks like Ashley is assisting you here as well.
This discussion was a LONG time ago, but I don't see any answers. I've got a variable reference from a data entry box, but when I play the slide the text is impossible to read. I've tried making the text in both the data entry box and vr box larger and smaller and nothing seems to work. Is there an answer to this ? THANK YOU!!!
Hi, Sylvia.
Thank you for reaching out!
When you right-click the text box for your reference, and select Format Shape, which option do you have selected?
I recommend the Resize shape to fit text option if you need to adjust the font.
Let me know if that works!
Hi Maria, thank you I will check this out and get back to you!!
I am having a similar issue. I am trying to print a text box that has input from multiple project variables. The text box contains more than one page of text. I was wondering if anyone has found a solution to this problem. It would be nice to be able to print the entirety of the text and have it formatted so the font is large enough to read.
Hi Bill,
Happy to help!
I found this forum post on how to print anything in Storyline 360 which has gotten positive responses from the community. While we do not support the methods described in the post, we recommend checking it out to see if they help you with your requirement!

Thanks Joe. This is an easy way to print the text input. It is more efficient than the javascript I had before.
Glad to hear my colleague Joe could direct you to that solution, Bill!
Happy developing!
