Problem selecting items
Jun 13, 2012
When I try to click on an individual item on a slide, it keeps selecting the box I have set as the background instead of the item I am trying to select. I sent the background to "Send to back" before inserting the additional elements; but this doesn't help. All items are on the same layer; so that isn't the issue. This is driving me nuts.
Specfically, I have a slide with two boxes to create a two-tone background. Both boxes are grouped and sent to back. I then added a text box. When I try to click on the text box, the background group keeps getting selected. I have to keep clicking around until I hit the "magic" spot.
Does anyone know a trick to get around this? (I miss the selection pane!).
thanks, Cathy

Hi Cathy,
You can select directly from within the timeline. You can then access the handles of your objects easily.
Hope it helps, have a nice day!

Go to the timeline and lock/hide all the items you don't want to work with at the moment. This should make it easy for you to select the object.
If you do hide objects in the timeline don't forget to show them again or else they won't appear when you preview or publish for project.
Thank you. I knew there had to be a simple solution.
