Problem with courses freezing

Jul 17, 2017

Hi,

I have been experiencing this problem for about 2 months now with the courses we produce in Storyline 2.  No-one can give me an answer as to why its happening, I have sent many a ticket into support and am none the wiser, my LMS host has looked at it for me and cant determine the problem either.

Basically the course will start and run to the first set of questions that are included, once the last question from that first bank is answered in any of the 14 courses I have (its not one specific course they will all do this) the course will not progress to the next information slide.

One solution that fixes it in Google Chrome is that I ask users to flick the javascript, flash and popup blocker to always allow for this site, this resolves it but I don't want to be having the issue in the first place.

Any help would be great thanks.

Thanks Brian, my LMS provider suggested this as well, the same result happened in Scorm Cloud when I tried it, but its very random I tested it about 20 times by resetting the course and starting over and 19 out of 20 times it worked for myself and only froze once.  Its so frustrating, and no one has an answer.

Hi Alyssa, one of the ticket ID's was 16271, my sales rep Matthew Cooper had transferred it to the technical team, I was asked to send them files over wetransfer and didn't hear anything back.

Hi David,

Could you have been working with another Support team, for the LMS perhaps? I looked up that ticket number (our numbers are 8 digits starting with 0), and I didn't find anything for that one.

You mentioned Chrome worked when enabling the pop ups--that sounds like a browser setting, and not something specific to Storyline. To be sure, our team would be happy to help you test your file. Would you be willing to share it with us here?

Great, David! Thanks for letting us know.

I see that our Support Engineers have received it and they'll be reaching out to you soon via email. I noticed that you included your published output there, thanks so much! Would you mind also sharing your unpublished .story project file too?

You can upload it right to your case using this form.

Thanks again!

Hi,  I haven't heard back from your team on this issue since my last reply.  Please could you update me.

Additionally I have another issue I would like some help with.

I have a course that was made for me that I have had to modify as some of the content has changed.  One particular question that I have modified numerous times in the this course keeps reappearing in the published file.

I have even completely deleted the slide before publishing it and it was displayed in the preview of the newly published project.  How is this possible.

Your continued response on both issues would be very much appreciated.

Regards

David

Hey David!

Sorry about that- it looks like my colleague Cleo sent a reply with some steps to follow, and I'll reach out to him to have that resent incase it didn't make it to you! He'll continue investigating with you to get that working.

As for the second issue you're seeing- is this happening after you've updated the course on the web? If so, it may be a browser caching issue. Run through the suggestions here and let me know if that does the trick!
