I have a quiz with a simple hotspot question. However, it doesn't work. No matter where I click on the image, in the quiz review the hotspot is marked 'incorrect' and the click indicator is displayed in the lower right corner of the screen. Any ideas?
In this image, I clicked on one of the triangles, but in quiz review my click indicator is on top of my custom button.
I think the problem is that you are using an onslide submit button, this is repositioning your hotspot marker, the only solution is to set it to automatic submission or use the player control submit button
That kind of defeats the purpose. I don't want to use the built-in player, which is why I've disabled most of it and used my own navigational buttons. Why do they work for everything but this one question type?
If you are using the custom submit button in the same layer then it wont work.because the entire slide will act as a hit area ,so what you have to do it, just create the submit button in another layer and call a trigger in base layer to show the submit button layer when time line statrs.
Hi Maggie - i have done the changes in your file, please have a look

Hi Maggie,
Can you isolate that slide and upload it into as .story-file on the forim so we can have a look at it ?

Not sure, I reported this as a problem ages ago, cannot remember if I had a workaround, will try and drag out the project
Hi Maggie,
I took a look at it.
It is like phil said, taking out the submit button kind of screws things up.
There is an alternative. What I did, Instead of having Submit by "player button", I set it to "on Click"
Now you do not have to click on Submit anymore...
Hope its an alternative

So this is a workaround to a know issue. Should I report this or comment on an existing report somewhere?
Maggie,
I didn't know about this issue, for me it would be an alternative if I didn't want to use the player submit button
Cheers

Hi Maggie,
Would the solution at this thread work for you?
Custom Submit button use with Hotspot Question

Nice! I used the work around and all is well (8 years later).
Same with me. I'm new to quiz making with Storyline360 and I had the same problem. I put my continue button in a new layer and it worked.
Taking submit out worked for me. Thanks for the help.
I'm glad that this older conversation was able to help you as well, Matthew. I appreciate you chiming in to share, and welcome to E-Learning Heroes. 😊
Thank you for this fix! Great help!
