Problem with Hotspot Quiz slide in Storyline 3
Aug 23, 2018
My courses have a hotspot quiz slide with a hotstpot over an image of a button I created. If I click anywhere on the slide other than on the hotspot, I advance to the Results slide, but Results are not submitted to my LMS. If I then try to return to the quiz slide, the Hostpot is disabled. If I click on the hotspot on first attempt, I advance to the quiz slide and results are submitted to my LMS. This began happening when I recently upgraded to version 3.2.13213.0. This is presenting a problem when I add other clickable content, to the quiz slide. I've tried to recreate the problem as much as I can in the attached file. In my actual course, my slides are more elaborate and contain other links that users are directed to click before clicking on the hotspot. As soon as someone clicks on one of those links, the problem begins. This did not happen prior to this upgrade.

I've added another button to this same sample course to show that even if you click on non-hotspot button, the slide advances to the Results slide.
Hey Michael!
Since you've selected the 'No Feedback' option, you'll advance to the next slide when you click anywhere on the screen. Normally, you would see a Correct or Incorrect feedback layer, but you've turned those options off.
Instead, try this:
Check out this quick video I recorded for you to see what I mean!
Allthough over 1 year ago. Let's try.
I am encountering exactly the same problem and the solution offered by Alyssa does work. However, I am using a multiple choice hotspot and now they cannot click on the wrong answer.
So this doesn't work for me.
Writing this, I guess I should just make this a multiple choice question.
Hello there, Michel!
You're right. If you apply Alyssa's approach to a multiple-choice hotspot slide, learners can only click on the Correct answer. Here's a short video of my test.
From here, I would also opt for a multiple-choice question type and delete each feedback layer. That way, learners can select Correct and Incorrect answers.
Keep us posted on your design! In the meantime, I'll link these related resources ⇣
Thanks for the effort / reply.
Already made it a multiple choice with shuffling answers disabled, since they should click on the correct image. Good enough for my purpose, so I am not investing more time in it.
Otherwise I would use a drag and drop and shuffle the images and make them drag and drop the correct answer ;-)
Next time I'll do that.
