I'm using Storyline to create a course with an embedded video. I can stop the timeline on the point in the course where I want to add a textbox-based trigger.
However, when I pause or stop the course, the video is no longer visible, making it impossible for me to align the textbox trigger on top of the video.
It sounds like you're using the play/pause timeline button to try and sync up individual timing elements? Instead of using the timeline play/pause, as it's designed to help you see the course as a whole, could you look at the time stamps of the video in editing and use those to time the appearance of other items on your slide?
