Problems in Published not in Preview

Hi all,

I'd love your thoughts about why this might happen:

In the preview, the menus and questions work fine:

But in any published version (Firefox, Chrome, or IE -- not a Mac user), I get this:

I searched previous discussions here for a fix, and I have tried setting the slides to the initial state, but that doesn't seem to work.

I'm using the .html5 version. Would another work better?

I should add that the story has many slides (5 main sections, 4 with branching and 20+ slides). Is it just too big?
