Problems with short timelines, anyone?
Jun 10, 2015
Good morning all,
Is there a minimum timeline length in SL2?
I am building up layers on a slide which each contain objects with exit animations and pause / resume timeline triggers. So it effectively looks like this: Timeline starts - Timeline pauses - Timeline resumes when user clicks hotspot - Timeline ends with object's exit animation. For this to work effectively I need the timelines to be extremely short, 0.25 or 0.5 seconds. I shorten all the timelines accordingly and test this in preview mode and it all works fine, but whenever I save the project and re-open, the timelines have all reset back to 8 seconds.
Has anyone experienced a similar issue in SL2 or figured out a solution besides manually resetting the timeline on each layer every time I open the project?
Thanks
Anne

Hi Anne! I've not heard of this issue before, nor can I reproduce.
Are you working locally on all your files? Can you re-create this behavior in a new file?
Hi Leslie
I have just tested this to see if I can re-create, and found that the issue only persists when I work across the network (as I have been doing up until now) so I will work locally instead.
Thank you :)
Anne
Thanks for the update Anne :)
When creating, editing, and publishing Articulate Storyline courses, be sure you're working on your local hard drive (typically your C: drive). Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior, such as file corruption, an inability to save changes, and loss of resources. See this article for more information.
My content on my slide disappears even though the content is set to the end of the timeline.
What is causing this?
Hey Kenneth and welcome to E-Learning Heroes!
Do you have an exit animation set perhaps? If you need us to take a look, please feel free to share your .story file and the slide in question.
