Problew with buttons (SL2, Fr)

Jun 24, 2015

I have a problew with previewed and published buttons, in SL2 in French.

My buttons’ states are :

buttons states

The button must be white with a dumb loudspeaker, and on click cross to grey pushed button with a soundy loudspeaker icon.

But on clic, the grey pushed button shows up with a dumb loudspeaker icon. This state does not exist.

I think that it is a bug? How to fit it?

As attachement, you’ll find a .story with one of the 10 slides presenting this problem.

There are 4 sounds in this layer: an intro, and 3 played by clic on "Dialogue" buttons. As I did with triggers, I want to mute all other sounds on a "Dialogue" button's clic ; and to prevent user to clic on a "choisir" button before the dialogue’s end.

I wish someone will be able to help :)

Hi Aurelie,

Thanks for sharing your file here. I see the same behavior in your file and I looked at testing the same type of set up in a new file and I'm not able to replicate the issue of a "non-existent" state appearing while clicking on the button. Have you confirmed that you're working with project files as described here?  Does this only occur with French courses or with English courses as well?

Hi Aurelie,

Thanks for following up.  Could you tell us more about how you created those buttons and states and I can try to follow those exact steps? I wasn't able to replicate it as I mentioned, but knowing more about how you've set this up (i.e. do you translate the buttons using the import, type them natively in french, duplicate particular states, etc.) will help me to continue investigating.

Also, if you're able to try replicating it in a brand new file, that'll help us know if it's file specific as well.

As attachement, you’ll find the same screen, in my file's previous version (v0.6).

Here the states worked on computer, but did not work well on my tablet ("Appuyé" didn't stay on click, but switched fast to "Normal"). So I changed the way to use buttons and triggers : that created the v0.7 you've already se.

Monday, I'll start again with 0.6 and made the steps I remember to set the 0.7 up. I'll use screen recording to share it with you.

Wilbert fix it : he was able to replicate the issue with the button sets only when using an icon for the selected state of the buttons.

To fix it he added the attached trigger on all dialogue buttons.

Thanks everybody for your time.
