Program is frozen in Publishing screen

Feb 13, 2017

I'm running Storyline 2 on a Mac using VMWare. I've never had a problem before.

I'm trying to publish, and changed the location to publish to the desktop, rather than the vmware shared network, which is the default.

Now the program is frozen - it lets me click Cancel (Publish screen), but nothing happens. It has been this way for 30 minutes. It's not publishing. Control-Alt-delete will not even close the program.

HELP!

Thanks.

Hi Katie and welcome to E-Learning Heroes :)

I took a look at the case that Cynthia opened and this was the solution that was shared with her:

This issue may be caused by a temporary computer glitch. Please reboot your computer to see if this resolves the issue.

Also, please be sure you're working from your local hard drive (typically your C: drive) when creating, editing, or publishing a Storyline project. Working from a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior, such as file corruption, an inability to save changes you've made to your project, and loss of resources.

Please review this article for more information.

If the issue persists, I will need you to perform the troubleshooting steps in this article.
