Hey,
I've been working on an Articulate Storyline and having saved the file and reopened it, the file seems to have gained a big problem. The conent is all present however it freezes on opening and the slides in the story view seem to be playing musical chairs (you may have to see it to believe it) I'm aware it could be that the file is just corrupt and unusable but any help on the matter would be greatly appreciated as you'll all be much more intelligent on this matter than I am! Any way to get the storyline
Many thanks for any help you can give!
Tom

Hi Tom,
Welcome to the communitiy
Yikes! I DO see it! Looks like a neon sign.
I just imported into a new story, though, and that seems to have fixed it. So, you should be able to do the same.
Start up a new instance of SL.
Click to dreate a New Slide.
In the Insert Slides window,
Browse to your file and import all slides.
It will take a few.
Hi Tom and welcome to Heroes!
I'm sorry to hear about the odd behavior with your Storyline file - and it's a good idea to follow along with these guidelines to prevent odd behavior and file corruption:
Also, it may be worth first restarting your machine. This refreshes the system and usually resolves erratic issues when working with Articulate software (and other software as well).
If your Storyline software is still not working properly, a simple repair may fix the problem. Please review the following article to learn how.
Restart you machine after repairing Storyline to complete the reinstallation process, then test the software again. If the issue persists, please carefully follow the troubleshooting steps in this article.
You can also try to import the existing project into a new project as described here.
Thank you both so much!
Rebecca, that worked perfectly! I now have my work again without the disco going on in the screnn thank you so much!
Ashley, I'm definitely going to take your advice, saved to the C: drive now so hopefully this won't happen again. Our company works off a shared drive but I definitely think any new builds will be saved on my computer from now on.
Again, thank you both so much, made my day!
Thanks for the update Tom - and if you need to keep a back up copy on your Shared drive, that's ok to do, you'll just want to open, edit, and publish your .story files to your local drive as mentioned.
Glad you got the help you needed here!
