Project not resetting in HTML5

Feb 25, 2014

I have a project where the score (the score is set up as a variable in the course) is calculated based on the selections that the user makes throughout the project. There are multiple final scenarios so the user can go back and try again until they get a score of 100%. I have the project built in multiple layers with each layer set to reset to initial state when revisiting, there is also a "Start Over" button that is set to Restart the course.  When viewing the Flash version of the course everything functions correctly and the score and other variables all reset themselves when the user restarts the course. However in the HTML 5 version the variables to not reset themselves when the user starts the course over and the score simply accumulates over time. What can I do to get this to work in HTML 5, I need our sales reps to be able to view it on their iPad's and our managers want it to be viewed from our LMS not the articulate mobile app. Please help! Thanks.

Hi Ellen,

Thanks for sharing the Storyline project. I was able to confirm that this matches a known issue where "reset to initial state" is not working as expected in HTML5. This has been reported to our QA team and I've included this thread in the report.

In the meantime, you may want to look into adding some additional triggers to the start button to "adjust the variable" for your Score to 0 when clicked. You'll want to set that trigger before the "jump to slide trigger."
