Publish SCORM content on mobile devices

Oct 28, 2015

Hello everyone,

First, sorry for my english, I hope that you will understand me.. :)

I tried to publish a SCORM course on the LMS platform and I would like to launch the course on smartphone or tablet... but it doesn't work. Here is my configuration :

- I change the story size in 4:3 like this procedure : https://community.articulate.com/series/articulate-storyline-2/articles/choosing-a-story-size-in-articulate-storyline-2

- For the player, I choose for the browser size (resize browser to the optimal size) and for the player size (lock player at optimal size)

- For the publication on LMS, I choose HTML5 to mobile device, I publish in SCORM 2004 3rd edition.

My problems :

1) The course is launched on smartphone and tablet but it doesn't resize at the correct size. So small for the learner... What can I do ?

I choose on the LMS platform to launch the course on full screen. I don't think that is the problem.

2) On smartphone and tablet, some slides of my course don't display correctly, the videos don't appear or don't launch, the images are in big pixels or don't display...

Thank you very much for your help :)

Ho, Solene -- Thanks for reaching out, and hopefully, we will be able to get you back on the right track! Please take a moment to review this information on Publishing a Course for Mobile Devices, as it may answer a number of your questions, and also How to Determine the Optimal Size for Mobile Devices

And as you mentioned that you are using an LMS, I also wanted to recommend that you test your published output on the SCORM Cloud, as that is the industry standard for testing LMS content. If your course behaves properly on the SCORM Cloud, you may want to reach out to your LMS provider for additional assistance.

Hi, Solene
I've been having the same problem with the storyline html5 output (1 and 2).
Some of the files are showing problems on the menu, logo and animations. This is happening with files that were previously working and it's been a week that they haven't been working properly.
Also, these problems occur in all browsers and smartphones.
Can someone help me?

Hi Christie, thanks for your answer ! I've already seen your links and even if I've followed the advices, it doesn't work. My problems are the same...

But I don't understand this part : "How Do Learners View Courses on Mobile Devices?
After publishing, upload your course to a web server or LMS, then give learners a link to the story.html file (which is the file that launches the course). They’ll automatically see the right format for the device and browser they’re using. See this article for details on how this happens."

How to give this link (story_html5) to my learnears on the LMS ?

1) I put the file "name of the course output" on my desk. 2) On the platform, in the course, I create a file ressource and I upload the story_html5 but it doesn't insert. 3) So, I create a HTML page ressource, but the link doesn't work too.

Can you explain to me what is the procedure to give this link on the LMS platform ?

Thank you in advance :)
