Publish to LMS - Error

Jul 11, 2016

I have seen some older discussions about this issue, but nothing newer, and the discussions did not have a definitive fix. When I publish to LMS, I receive and error report about 50%-60% of the time.

The files are usually a few slides/ quiz slides plus a slide with a 20-60 minute mpg4 video. I am working from the local drive. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Storyline 2.

How can I resolve the issue? Thanks!

Hi Lynn and welcome to E-Learning Heroes :)

Sorry to hear that you've run into a similar problem. This thread is a bit dated, but I was able to take a look at the support case mentioned above. It looks like we were unable to replicate the issue, so I do not have any further advice to share from the above example.

Let's start anew. I have a few questions:

  • What is the error that you are receiving?
  • Is it when you are publishing within the software or when you are uploading to the LMS?
  • What version of Storyline are you currently using?

If you could share the .story file, I'd be happy to take a look as well.

I'm having the same issue with 2 files.     I am able to publish all other storyline files to LMS and Zip file them to upload to our LMS.  However, there are 2 files that I keep getting the below error message in storyline.  I have tried saving the course to a new project but get the same error.

Please assist.

This may be a long shot, but how many characters long is the file name + directory path (all the way back to C:\)? Once you start getting close to the 255-character limit, Storyline throws fits.

There may also be a limit to the number of characters in the title (per this conversation).
