Published project stops loading mid-slide at client end

Jan 23, 2014

I'm trying to get a small information resource for a client to work properly. Prior to this project I asked the client to test a small storyline 'web' published project, including an embedded video. They reported that it worked perfectly at their end.

I have just published the project in the same way, copying files to the same server. It is not appreciably larger than the demo I did. It contains nothing special, standard storyline stuff. But the client reports that the loading of it stopped half-way through the second slide, the main menu, and stuck there, despite several tries.

To my mind, if there is a security issue, the thing should either load, or fail, or perhaps certain things might not work, such as hyperlinks, etc - no such issue here - or am I being too naive?

I'd appreciate any feedback as to whether it loads OK:

Plus, any insight into what might cause this specific problem?

Hi John,

First - great job! I love the look and flow of the project.

Second - as I'm sure you've guess, I was able to navigate through the course. I believe I viewed the entire project, I even popped out for the quiz. I reviewed everything until I saw the "content available later" slide.

If they were able to successfully view the demo and had no trouble, but they're seeing issues now.. hmm. The first thing that comes to mind is caching. Did you happen to upload over the original project you shared with them? Mainly, are they accessing it from the same URL they viewed previously? In either case, it may help if they clear their browser cache.

If that doesn't help, do you know what web browser they're using? Have they tried using another to access the course?

Thanks!
