Published Project won't load.

Dec 03, 2012

Hello,

I have a storyline project that has been published for an LMS using SCORM 1.2. When I try to preview the project after publishing, it won't load in internet explorer (IE9). It also will not load when I upload it my Oracle LMS.

I have uploaded the slides into a new storyline file, but that did not fix the problem.  I have also saved the file under a new name, to no effect.

Any advice would be helpful. Thanks!

Alison

Hi Christine,

Yes, I've tried to view it in Firefox and Chrome, it doesn't work in either brower.

Interestingly I have a 2nd elearning that was created out of the malfunctioning file, the only difference is 10 slides have been removed. The 2nd eLearning works perfectly. My assumption is that 1 of those 10 slides are corrupt and is causing the whole package to fail. Is this something that has been seen before?

Thanks.

Hi Alison,

It's quite possible something may have gone wrong when the other slides were removed. It would be difficult to tell that exactly caused the issue, without working with the original file. Sometimes, simply recreating the course by inserting the slides into a new project file will fix the problem, if it's related to a corrupt file.

Are you able to get the second version working on your LMS?

Hi Christine,

Yes the 2nd version works in the LMS. I went ahead a saved a new version of the 2nd eLearning and rebuilt the 10 slides. I was able to published the eLearning and view it successfully in IE9. However, when I went back and added a seek bar to the player and republished, it won't let me view it again.

Now, in my export folder I'm getting 2 new files, both HTML documents "story_html5" and "story_unsupported."  I'm really not sure what to try next.

Hi Alison,

Thanks for getting back to me. I'm sorry to hear this is still not working properly for you. Would you mind submitting a support case with our tech team, so we can take a closer look at what might be causing the issue with the files? If you can, please attach the .story file that you recreated and that has the issue now. Also, all files submitted to our support team are kept confidential.

Also, if you do open a support case, please share the case number with me. I'll follow the progress of the case and update this thread with the resolution, just in case any other community members experience the same problem.

Thanks again, Alison.
