Publishing and then Launching via HTML - SL2

Jan 09, 2017

I have a new client and a new situation.  When publishing, I always launch .story.  It works fine.  My client "always" clicks the HTML button.  She says that works best for them.  They do NOT use mobile or ipads etc.  They use IE as their default browser (and that will not change).

When I published and viewed my work via HTML, there was jerky behavior with my Markers, blurry text with some graphics and, overall, just didn't perform as well.  Here is what I need feedback on:

- why again would someone want to launch in HTML?

- how best can I explain to this client that they are better off launching via .story in Internet Explorer.

Thanks for your help.

Hello Terra, thanks for reaching out!

If you and your client are using Internet Explorer to view Storyline 2 published content, you'll want to view it with Flash, since Google Chrome is the only supported browser for viewing HTML5 content

Someone might launch their content with HTML5 if they are using a browser without Flash or if they are using a mobile device. on that note, here's a bit more information on how to distribute Storyline 2 content for Flash, HTML5, and the Articulate Mobile Player.

I hope this answers your questions, and please feel free to let me know if I can assist further!

Thank you.  I always view SL2 with Flash, but have run into an issue with my client wanting to view it with HTML5 - even though they claim that they have never had problems using IE as their browser.   When she tried to launch a published SL2 in Flash, she received error messages - perhaps her Flash is outdated.

My work has created problems with the viewing and I'm trying to educate them about using Flash.  :(
