Publishing to CD/DVD

Jan 22, 2014

Hello,

I really like the awesome power of Articulate  Storyline.  I have had absolutely no problems creating and tailoring

my educational courses and games.  However, I have come to sudden halt for publishing to CD/DVD, I have read

just about every post and tip on the topic. Finally, I was able to get my materials to my desktop and launch play and it played : ).  But every time I try to burn to a disc, I'm given error message that say files are invalid or not recognized.  I am working in Windows 8 and I made certain that auto play is on (no auto-run setting). I purchased  Cyberlink CD/DVD Burning Software. I tried Media Player, Media Suite 10 and none of these programs recognize  Articulate files-(autorun.inf, launch_story exe. etc..).  They will extract my videos in the project only and create some random play set up. Gee, maybe, someone can please tell me a software that is preferred for this process/ application,

or what I'm possibly overlooking? : ( . Thanks.

Hi Belle and welcome to the community!

You’ll want to make sure that you don’t simply drag the folder to burn, and that your CD-R software doesn't create a folder on the CD. You need to have the contents of the output directory at the root level of the CD in order for autorun to work correctly.

I'm not sure why you'd seen an error about file recognition when burning. If this were happening when launching, that would be a little more understandable. Can you confirm when you're seeing that error?

There's an older video that Justin shared for Presenter, but it may help you out. You'll see that you simply need to place the content on the drive/disc. If you're using Windows 8, you should see an option for "Burn a Disc".

Here's the video I mentioned.

Let us know how it goes! :)
