Pulling Learner's name from external file

Hi Friends,

I'm wondering if there is a way to create a login page in Storyline that reads data to verify a learner's name from an excel or csv file (a list of learners name). I'm trying to do a way without LMS.

Sample screenshot

Login page
Learner enters his/her name and then click 'Enter'
Name verified based on the list
Proceed on the course

So, you need Storyline to look up some information external to Storyline, but not use an LMS? If you're comfortable with javascript, that may be your best bet. Here's a starting point: http://www.articulate.com/support/storyline/javascript-best-practices-and-examples

Thanks Greg. I'm fine with Javascript. But i'm not so proficient in Javascript actually. Would need more examples showing me how to. Anyway, i appreciate your reply.
