Question bank A/B options

May 29, 2014

In learning more about question banks, I see that it is possible to "lock" two questions together so that if A is randomly drawn, B must also be included as part of the draw. What I am trying to do is the opposite. I am looking for an easy way to say that if A is randomly drawn, DON'T also include B in the same draw. For instance, alternate versions of the same question that I would not want to appear together on the same test.

I think I could do this using a very small bank of two questions for each paired set like this, with the banks set to draw 1 of the 2 questions. But that's a lot of work to set up when I have a lot of paired questions. I am looking for an easier way to make sure two questions are always separated, instead of always joined together. Does this exist?
