Quiz question (T/F or MC) with text entry box for a "why do you think this way"?

Feb 06, 2017

Hello,

I'm building a MC quiz question and I'd like to let the learner type in a response to why they think it's wrong?

For example: Is this a good research question?

Blah, blah, blah

True for yes; false for no.

Then on the feedback, they would have the opportunity to type in why they think it's not correct.

Any suggestions?

Hi Katie,

You could look at adding a text entry field on a subsequent slide or on the layer - but you'll need to look at the ways here to capture that information and send it to your LMS. Here are directions on how you'd accomplish this within Storyline 360 (the steps will be similar for SL1 and 2).

If you were to put it on a slide after the MC/TF question you could use a standard short answer question type and that would report to your LMS as a regular question as long as you're tracking it on the results slide. You may want to set the points/scoring to 0 so that it's not calculated in the passing total.

You can also edit the True/False to read Yes/No if you'd like - either from the Form view or Slide view of your question.
