Quiz results not working properly in HTML5

Jan 19, 2014

Hi there

This is my first post on here so thought I'd make it a good one!

I am currently working on a project which includes a series of quiz questions. 4 of the quiz questions I have created from freeform and 2 have been created by inserting a new quiz slide, and I have included a results slide.

When I publish and test my project it all works fine (in Articulate preview and when uploaded to the LMS), if I answer all 6 questions correctly the results slide tells me I answered all 6 correctly.

However when testing the HTML5 output (in various browsers) the results don't work properly. Even if you answer all 6 questions correctly, for some reason the results slide only shows that 2 out of 6 questions have been  answered correctly.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Hi there John and welcome to E-Learning Heroes!

Can you tell us which web browsers and versions have this issue with the HTML5 content? Does it update correctly in any web browser?

Also, just to be clear - it's the results slide that's not displaying the score correctly, right? Is the reporting for the course in the LMS functioning properly (Pass/Fail, etc.)?

Thanks!

Hi Christina

Thanks for the welcome. I've been using this forum for a while now for tips and ideas and always find it very useful and inspiring! Great community.

I've tried exporting my project and then launching the html5 output file in Chrome, latest version of Firefox, and IE11 and get the issue. I also the issue when testing the uploaded scorm package once uploaded to moodle and trying it on a mobile device using chrome - Sony Xperia tablet.  The project works fine when running the flash version, it just seems like the html5 version doesnt register my freeform questions - seeing as it always displays 2 out of 6.

I'm also finding issues with freeform drag and drop and html5. I've read the existing posts about this issue and follwoed the advice given but it still doesnt work for me. I've checked and there are no updates for my storyline so dont know if there is something else i've missed. Would really love to get my projects working with html5.

If you can help i'd be massively grateful!

I'm glad to hear that! :) I'll be sure to share that feedback with my team.

First, I just want to mention that the only supported mobile device is the iPad. Though content may run on other devices, we're not able to support them just yet. We are trying to add additional devices (Android, etc.) to this list, however.

I'm glad you were able to test this in Flash, that was going to be my next question. So, it doesn't seem to be device or browser-specific. Looks like it's definitely an issue with the HTML output.

I'm curious - have you tested using SCORM Cloud? This would help us determine if the issue is Articulate related or if it's on your LMS's side.

If you're using AICC content please take a look at the article below for testing information:

Articulate Support - Testing Studio '09 AICC content at SCORM Cloud

If you see this in SCORM Cloud as well, are you able to share the .STORY file for the project? If it's not too large, you should be able to attach it to this discussion thread.

Thanks, John!
