Quiz Review showing correct answers as incorrect

Hello! I have a course with a quiz that, when reviewed, shows all correct answers as incorrect. Even when getting one or two questions wrong, the review shows all answers as incorrect although the Results slide shows the right percentage for correct answers. In addition, the slides do not show the answer I selected, but they do show a check mark by the correct answer.

When I set the trigger to "review only incorrect answers," when achieving 100% on the quiz, nothing happens when clicking the Review Quiz button (as expected, I assume). When achieving less than 100%, but still a passing score, the review does only show the incorrect answers; however, it does not show the answer that I selected, nor the check mark that indicates which answer is correct. 

Attached are some graphics to show what's happening, and the trigger that is set on the Review Quiz button.

FYI ... I am working from a local drive.

I appreciate any help you can provide on this issue.

Hi Desiree,

Thanks for reaching out and sharing what you are running into with your project.

Based on your description and the image of the review showing the incorrect response, it looks like the Slide Properties may be to blame.

Notice in your image how you cannot tell which radio button the user originally selected? Are your slide properties set to 'Reset to initial state'? 

Having your slide properties set to Automatically Decide or Resume Saved State should eliminate the issue you are currently experiencing.

Hi Leslie, 

Thank you for the suggestion. I set the slides to "Automatically Decide" and it fixed the quiz review issue, but it created another problem. Now, the quiz questions don't reset when the user chooses to retry the quiz when they fail. The button for retrying has a trigger to reset the results on the results slide, but I don't see how I can force the slides to reset the initial setting without once again breaking the review quiz setting.

Any suggestions?

Thanks for letting me know what you are running into now.

  • Are you using the built-in Quiz Retry button on the Result Slide?
  • Is this trigger set before you jump back to the first quiz slide?

Hi Leslie,

By George, you've cracked the case!!! I was not using the built-in Quiz Retry button, nor the built-in Retest button, I used the "Insert > Button" route, and set triggers on those. I changed both buttons, and now all is right with the world again. It's so strange that my triggers were identical to the built-in buttons, but did not perform the same way. Perhaps there's  be some behind-the-scenes code on the built-in buttons.
