Quiz shows correct answers incorrect on LMS

Dec 26, 2016

Hello everyone,

Since very recently, we're experiencing a very big problem with some of our clients. Some of them have correct answers noted incorrect when they pass their exam on our LMS. Our courses are actually a set of two courses: one for the course itself and a quiz for the exam and both are made using Storyline.

Our LMS provider claims that there is no way the problem comes from the LMS since it is the storyline output which makes all calculations and so on. But we cannot see the problem on Scorm Cloud. The problem does not happen all the time and only some clients have faced it so far. But the problem started on 15th December.

We changed some settings on Storyline to see if it could correct the issue but nothing seems to be working. The biggest problem I have now is I don't know how to check whether the problem comes from our Storyline content or from the LMS. Even though I have tested all courses (because that does concern all our courses) on Scorm Cloud, I admit I can't make as many tests as the people who actually use the course.

Do you have any idea?

So what results do you want to report to the LMS? Is this the same as what you want to report to your participants?

If you only need to report the final quiz, then you only need one results slide for that final quiz. Just be sure to select the question slides that you want to include in the report to the LMS, and to your students.

If you want to report the results of all your quizzes, then you need to either include all of the questions in your results slide, or you need to include a results slide for each quiz into a final results slide. It is easier to keep track of if you put a results slide into each scene after each quiz, and then the final results slide in its own scene, or in the scene with the last quiz. You should only have one results slide that compiles the results of other results slides, and it should be the last on in your project. It's always a good thing to make sure all of the results slides are configured correctly just before you publish your project, as they may change on you without your realizing it.

Dave,

I want to report the results of all the quizzes to LMS. I tried to do it as you suggest. at the end of every modules there is a results slide that does not show the results to the user, I think that I erased the part that showed the result because I didn't want to confuse the user with three different results.  Maybe that is what is causing the conflict?

You can have a results slide at the end if each quiz, and not show it if you want. I've done this many times. Just turn off all of the layers, or select not to show it in the settings. Then add a trigger to jump to the next slide or scene when the timeline begins. This way the user won't have to interact with the slide at all, creating sort of a hidden slide. To do it this way, you should only need 4 results slides for part 1. One for each of the three quizzes, and one final one set to congregate the results of the other three. Part 2 is the same, except for 2 for the quizzes, and a final slide. The final results slide should always be the last results slide in your project.
