When I click on a link to open up a random slide from a questionbank it freezes the whole player.
I have published the same .story file from Storyline 1 and Storyline 2. Storyline 1 published .exe is running smoothly where as I have problems with the Storyline 2 .exe.
Is it possible that the files published from Storyline 2 requires more computer resources than the files from Storyline 1.
Confused.... Aint Storyline 2 suppose to be better than its previous version
Thanks so much for the reply. the issue is not Storyline the applications itself that because when i preview the course it works fine. its when I publish it. When I publish it and start viewing the course I get stuck right on the first slide because I have 5 different options on the first slide that links to 5 different question banks that includes videos etc...
Maybe its the videos that makes it freeze, I really dont know.
How are you publishing this? Is it for Web, or LMS? have you tried in different browsers?
Also please make sure you are not testing the content from your local computer. We recommend to Test your published content in its intended environment.
Web: Upload your presentation to a web server and view the content with a valid http address.
LMS: Upload your presentation to your LMS, then login as an end-user and view the course.
Articulate Online: Upload your presentation to your Articulate Online account.
Offline: If you'll be distributing your content offline, publish for CD.
you can also use Articulate Tempshare, or test content in the SCORM Cloud, the industry standard for testing, if it is for LMS use.

Please makes sure you are working locally as described here. Also, you may wan to look into this article if you continue to have this behavior.
If you like you could share the SL1 version of the file here so we can try and reproduce the behavior.
