Read Only Seekbar Issues
Jan 29, 2015
Hello all! I know this topic has been discussed, but am hoping someone has been able to figure a way to get around my problem. I produce continuing ed courses that have timing requirements set by individual jurisdictions, so need to leave the seek bar at read only, forcing the learner to view the entire presentation. Since the material is very content dense, I am trying to figure a way to allow learners to back up and move around in already viewed portions without having the ability to jump forward. The slides are a combination of a video with many layers and hotspots, making things pretty complicated. Video controls are a no, variables don't work if the seekbar is draggable....any ideas?

Hi Jenny,
I may not be clear on your exact set up - but have you looked at including the menu and setting it to restricted? That way the user could revisit slides that they'd already seen using the menu. The seekbar will still be in play so that they won't be able to advance through the actual slide.
Thank you for the response! Unfortunately, each video is its own slide,
which can range from anywhere between 3 to 5 minutes...so it is within the
slide itself that I'm hoping the learner can back up and review...Thank you
so much though!
Jenny,
I have preferred not to set the player to restricted but rather control the player controls slide by slide. I do this by setting/reading variables via triggers and changing the next button when necessary.
Is your issue about starting the slide over or going back a few seconds?
