Reg Managing time / duration in a simulation project

Jun 16, 2015

Dear all,

I am quite new to articulate storyline and need your inputs on a few things..

a. What is the ideal amount of time required to show a step in simulations? Is there a general guideline ?

b. Best practices in working with timelines / duration in elearning projects in general and Simulation projects in particular

c. In a simulation project that I am working, the speed of the course at first view is slow while the second time viewing of the course is super fast - not sure what is the error here

Appreciate your inputs

Regards,

These are really Instructional Design theory questions. I would ask who is your target population? i.e. Kids vs. adult; new employees vs. veterans. (Who) How complex are the steps? (What) If you were doing it and following along, how long would you feel comfortable with? (How). Depending on the answers, "ideal" could vary greatly.

The speed on repeat could be a setting in your slide. click the gear wheel on your layers - settings. Check the action for the revisiting dropdown. Alter that and see if it returns it to normal on subsequent passes. I've attached a screenshot of that screen. Hope this helps.
