I find it easy to create the symbol text in Word or PowerPoint (as part of my Storyboard), and use Microsoft's shortcuts for creating these symbols. I then copy the text and symbol to the clipboard and paste it into Storyline. Storyline maintains the font used in the course, but the symbols comes over great. You can also change the font in Storyline and increase or decrease the size, and the symbol stays.
For example, if you type: Text (c) . When you press the space bar after the ending parentheses, Word (and PowerPoint) will convert the C into a copyright symbol (small, superscript C within a circle). Other shortcuts include:
Hi folks. Thanks for this information but does anyone know how to access the Symbols that are used within the Button Tools area for usage outside of buttons? It's driving me bonkers that there are all these great icon shapes built-in, but only for buttons. Am I missing something?

Text (R) - creates the Registered symbol

The icons within the buttons themselves are not accessible as symbols to insert within Storyline - but that sounds like a really good feature request!
