I have created a freeform drag and drop question and would like to know if it is possible to remove the grey box from the incorrect and correct layers. I have successfully removed the text and continue buttons but can't find a way to erase the box.
My problem is that the box hides their answer - and I would like to give feedback next to their answer in image form so they can see instantly where they went wrong. The grey box is stopping me from doing this.

You have at least a couple of options. Go to View Feedback masters, and you can create and edit feedback masters.
When the user submits, show blank layers, and customize them as you like.
